The end of summer is a special time for producers of caviar delicacies. From June to September is a very busy time for salmon roe suplier, so that fresh caviar appears on the shelves by autumn. Every summer the general manager of the Lemberg caviar house Ruslan Volny travels to Alaska, on the Pacific coast, where the fine delicacy is produced.
Ruslan visits two small towns, Sitka and Ketchikan. Here are the factories of our main partners – salmon roe producers. The climate in these places is oceanic, it rains about 300 days a year, and the average temperature in summer does not exceed 15 degrees.
During his visit to fish factories, Ruslan communicates with technologists and makes sure that the requirements set by Lemberg are being met. “Uncompromising quality is the main component of our success” – Ruslan does not get tired of repeating. This principle underlies the work of the company as a whole and of each of its employees separately. And of course, our customers always receive only the freshest product. Selected salmon caviar without any intermediaries comes to our customers directly from our factory in Germany.
At the end of summer, the question of how much caviar will cost to the consumer is also decided annually. The price is formed taking into account many factors. First, a lot depends on the quotas for catching salmon species. Secondly, it is necessary to take into account what the demand was last year, the exchange rate plays an equally important role.
This year the catch was not as plentiful as expected, especially for the chum salmon. The pandemic had a negative impact on the development of prices, which entailed an increase in prices not only for the delivery of raw materials, but for all packaging components. However, this is not a cause for alarm for buyers of Lemberg products. “At such moments, loyalty between partners is very important,” Ruslan notes. “In difficult years, we work together to prevent excessive price increases.”
So in the fall there is another reason to please yourself and your loved ones with a fresh seafood delicacy from the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Whether it’s caviar of chum salmon, pink salmon, sockeye salmon or pike – you will certainly find your favorite variety among the assortment of Lemberg. On lightly toasted toast or with pancakes, red caviar will brighten any meal and add variety to everyday dishes. By the way, Ruslan himself advises serving it with an glass of vodka and boiled potatoes.
